The Shoot Nations 2008 London exhibition was launched on International Youth Day 2008, displaying the best entries from the competition. The keynote speaker at the private view was Allan Jones, CEO of the London Climate Change Agency. Mr Jones spoke about the changes that London could and was making to combat climate change. He also spoke of the hope associated with young people and the positive mitigation steps that were often led by young people. Hannah Strange of the Times Online and Sharon Goulds, Head of Communications at Plan UK also spoke at the event. Both commended the standard of photography and the diversity of issues that were displayed through the photographs. Throughout the week, over 4000 people visited the exhibition making it the most successful Shoot Nations event to date. The public were able to view the Shoot Nations light-boxes from 2007 and 2008 as well as over 130 images from the 2008 competition. Photos exhibited at OXO |
