| Shoot Nations exhibition opens brand new exhibition space in Liverpool |
| Plan are delighted to announce that the 2008 Shoot Nations exhibition has been chosen to inaugurate a brand new exhibition space at the International Slavery Museum on the Albert Dock in Liverpool. |
|
Plan has been working closely with National Museums Liverpool since the successful culmination of the Make the link, Break the Chain anti-slavery education project. The International Slavery Museum (ISM) will host this exhibition of photographs by young people from across the world. The powerful images highlight the global impact of our changing environment, particularly the effects of global warming and intensive farming on the earth's natural resources. The theme for Shoot Nations 2008 was climate change; giving young people worldwide the chance to express their views on their changing environment. The competition received more than 1,300 images from 104 countries. Shoot Nations is the first in a series of temporary exhibitions hosted at the ISM. The exhibitions will take a closer look at issues highlighted in the museum galleries - from global inequalities to racism, discrimination and identity. The Shoot Nations exhibition is open to the public from 17 January to 28 June 2009. The International Slavery Museum actively campaigns against all forms of contemporary racism, discrimination, slavery and bonded labour - it is an active museum. |
