| Speak out on Africa |
| Young people from diverse cultures talking to each other about real issues affecting their everyday lives. |

This topic of work is an excellent example of youth advocacy in action has been developed directly from the Young People's Commission for Africa (YPCfA) which linked 25 UK schools with 25 African counterparts. By exchanging correspondence over virtual forums, the students were not only able to air their views but also work together building up a common body of work and identifying the 10 issues that they felt were critical to the lives of young people in Africa today. These included: HIV/ AIDS, poverty, education, health, child labour and debt. The students were also able to ask questions directly to celebrities and key decision makers who sat in our ‘Hot Seat’ – video footage of their answers makes up part of this resource. From this large portfolio we have produced 4 schemes of work that are appropriate for the different key stages, fit into the national curriculum and are backed up by downloadable interactive resources.
