Real life in Ghana

Real life in Ghana

This project explores the complex issue of sustainable development by using direct comparisons and dialogue between young people in Ghana and the UK.

The work develops from a literacy exercise of comparing diaries to an analysis of more sophisticated concepts such as the relationship between local governance and global change (Agenda 21). A key component also asks how best we can support Ghanaian development from the UK at individual, community and national level.

The resources available include multimedia extracts of the Ghanaian diaries, activity sheets, photographs, country files and web-links.

The materials are developed through 4 schemes of work for the different key stages. Each scheme consists of 4 lessons with accompanying resources. The lessons are all clearly mapped to national curriculum attainment targets.
