| Footprint Friends |
| Footprint Friends is an independent, environmental social networking site for 11-18 year olds. It launched in August 2007 to promote the voice of young people in the climate change conversation, raise greater environmental awareness and inspire positive social action among youth groups around the world. |
|
Footprint Friend's aim is to give young people a voice, propelled by the power of web media to accelerate awareness and action in answer to sustainability challenges such as climate change. Their objective is to be the 'home' for Child-led Climate Change Communication via extended networks for learning and information sharing. The Footprint Friends website allows for research on specific issues by being able to test youth opinion on given environmental subjects via online polling. Plan will be working with Footprint Friends by providing educational resources and examples of work from the Make the Link, Be the Change project. Footprint Friends will be hosting many of the resources and providing UK forum space for young people to communicate on the issues that the scheme of work raises. Footprint Friends are also members of the Children in a Changing Climate programme and will be accompanying Plan to the Poznan climate change conference to campaign for young people to be included in discussions and negotiations.
