Make the Link, Be the ChangeSierra Leone and UK students take part in live link-up to launch new environmental project Camden students fundraise to help cyclone victimsSeven Year 9 students from Haverstock School in the London Borough of Camden, along with two teachers, formed ‘Project Burma’ to raise awareness and much needed funds for the disaster. Shoot Nations 2008 is live!Plan-ed are running a global photography project all about climate change and what it means to young people around the world. Shoot Nations will be exhibited with the UN on international Youth Day at the World Youth Congress in Quebec. Children in a changing climatePlan-ed will be launching a climate change project in conjunction with National Museums Liverpool in September 2008. The project will involve 100 schools from 8 different countries. Shoot Nations 2007 - governancePlan-ed teamed up with Shoot Experience in 2007 to run a global photography competition based on the notion of governance and what it means to young people around the world. The project received over 1500 entries from 85 countries and was presented to the UN on International Youth day. An exhibition and workshop tour visited four continents and was viewed by over 4500 visitors. Anti-slavery projectThis interactive project linked students in Liverpool, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Brazil and Haiti to talk about the legacy of slavery, 200 years after it was abolished in the British Empire. Vote for childrenThe Vote For Me campaign, a joint project by Plan and other members of the Alliance For Childhood in Colombia. Alliance members met groups of teenagers to find out what they found important. Youth advisors quizMembers of Plan UK’s Children’s Advisory Panel recently met with DfID (Department for International Development) Minister Gareth Thomas to discuss the challenges faced by some of the world’s poorest children affected by HIV and AIDS.
