The competition is open to 12 to 17-year-old students in the UK. Entrants wishing to take part are invited to submit an essay of between 500 to 750 words on ONE of the following subjects:

1. What is Slavery?

2. Write about someone you consider to be a hero or heroine of the abolition movement or about someone who is active in combating slavery and its legacies today.
